The area is mostly known
for wonderful sailing, beaches and glorious walks along miles of coastal
and woodland footpaths. A great number of our guests bring their own
boats; moorings and dinghy parking are available at a small charge.
Boats may also be hired locally - www.paddleandsail.com
- and a deep water or tidal mooring in Place Pool can be arranged
for a small fee. Sailing dinghies and tenders can be kept on Place
dinghy park also for a small fee and boats can be launched from Place
slipway. . Apart from being able to explore the lovely coves and rock
pools, there is safe swimming from all our beaches. The sailing is
probably the best in the British Isles and boats may be kept for a
small charge on the dinghy park. Moorings for larger vessels can be
arranged.
A recent article in The Times described St Anthony in Roseland as
‘a world where native oysters lie concealed by seaweed and sailing
times are dictated by tides that creep silently along shallow creeks’
