Hook Norton Cycling Club
Adam & Chris Green started the club in 2004
after discovering a mutual interest in bikes. They began riding together,
but it wasn’t long before they were joined by friends who also realised
the benefits that cycling could bring to their lives. With other commitments,
they all agreed that a regular Sunday morning spot would make life
easier. There is no membership fee & it’s very friendly & informal;
all you need is a bike, a helmet & the desire to burn some calories
in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. The club meets every Sunday
in front of The Sun Inn in Hook Norton at 9:30am (opposite the church).
From there we ride cross country for 2 to 3 hours on a range of different
tracks that we have mapped over the years (ride time is often dictated
by the number of punctures suffered on the way round). We’re usually
back around midday to hose down the bikes before lunch. Anyone is
welcome to come along (you don’t have to be an old bloke) & we try
our best to keep riding all year round.
