 Aromatherapy
is the use of essential oils most commonly applied by massage. Essential
oils are found in many different parts of plant matter. They are
wonderfully aromatic and it is their use in aromatherapy that stimulates
the sense of smell and emotional response. Their properties can
have various modes of action on the mind and body.
During consultation, the essential oils are carefully selected to
treat each individual holistically. They are blended in a carrier
oil and then applied by a gentle, relaxing massage.
The combined therapeutic effect of the massage and aromas is truly
beneficial, in particular for stress related symptoms and in promoting
a general sense of well-being .
NICOLA RIDDICK Bsc (HONS), MIFPA, AC
Registered - is a Nurse and has
worked in health care for over 15 years. She has a special interest
in complementary therapies and trained as an aromatherapist at
South Bank University, London where she achieved a degree of Bachelor
of Science with First Class Honours in Complementary Therapies.
She is a member of the International Federation of Professional
Aromatherapists (MIFPA), the Royal College of Nursing and is Aromatherapy
Council Registered.
