The Duck on the Pond is a delightful Public House & Restaurant which is situated in the picturesque village of South Newington located on the A361 Banbury to Chipping Norton Road.

It has been lovingly restored to a very high standard, whilst still retaining many of its original features such as oak beams and the bread oven found hidden behind the large open fire.

The bar is well stocked with a wonderful selection of fine wines, spirits and traditional ales from the surrounding parts of the country which change on a regular basis.

We are very proud of our reputation gained for fine cuisine by offering an extensive menu of traditional English and Cosmopolitan dishes to suit all tastes. We use only the finest ingredients which, where possible, are sourced locally. Daily blackboard specials, vegetarian options and a very tempting sweet trolley are also available.

Our main restaurant is non-smoking but food can also be served in our bar area. For those who like to eat al fresco, the patio area is the place to enjoy a fine meal, overlooking the delightful pond where fish and ducks live in harmony.

The gardens are well landscaped with picturesque views of the surrounding countryside and where the traditional game of Aunt Sally can make for great family entertainment.

We are pleased to cater for parties, functions and meals for that special occasion.
