The NHS Horton General Hospital and Leonard Cheshire Disability are delighted to announce a weekend of tribute band concerts to celebrate their 60th Anniversaries.

This event will raise funds for the Horton General Hospital’s Brodey Cancer Resource Centre Appeal and The Oxfordshire Cheshire Home at Agnes Court, Banbury.

Broughton Castle is again the spectacular backdrop for our week-end of open-air concerts where you can picnic and dance the night away as we bring you two fantastic nights of nostalgia.

On Saturday 19th July, we recreate two of the most successful band of all time ABBA and QUEEN, plus Dave Dixon’ tribute to Elvis Presley so get out those old flares and jump suits.

On Sunday 20th July,
we bring you a completely different type of concert featuring the John Miller Orchestra, the nephew of the legendary Glenn Miller. The band will be joined on stage by Fiona Paige singing some of the most famous songs of the era.
Why not get IN THE MOOD and come dressed for the part?

Both of the concerts will end with a spectacular fireworks display

Ticket prices: Adult £19:50; Child £13:50 up to 16 years and a Weekend Ticket is also available priced: Adult £34:00 Child £13:50.

DO YOU HAVE ANY GOOD QUALITY FURNITURE YOU NO LONGER NEED?
Currently at Blessed George Napier School we are refurbishing the interior to improve the learning environment for our pupils and create better facilities for the local community to use.
We do not have funding for new buildings so we are trying to make the most of our existing accommodation.
We are very interested in any business which might, as part of a rolling renewal programme, have any upholstered office or reception chairs in good condition that may be suitable for our Sixth Form study area and Library and melamine topped tables for Art rooms.
You may also have other items that might be very useful to us.
Please email me if you are able to help.
Thank you.

Friends of O.S.C.A.R. - Personal Leadership and Influence Programme
You will have previously known us as OSCAR, which is still an Oxford focused charity. Friends of OSCAR is a new charity which has been established to deliver the same levels of support and services to children and their families regardless of location. DDA Consulting have kindly offered to run one of their highly appraised training courses at cost with all proceeds going to the Oxfordshire based Children's Charity Friends of OSCAR.
I have personally attended the 3-Day off-site Personal Leadership & Influence training course which I found to be considerable fun, tiring and very motivational. The pre-requisites are for people to complete both a Belbin and Meyers Briggs questionnaire which is used on the course through a series of activities and discussion sessions to improve your knowledge of yourself and others and how to better use that knowledge to improve performance of both yourself and the team. I am hoping to be able to find 12 delegates to attend this training course and hope that you will be interested in supporting this initiative. If you are interested please contact me on either mobile 07764 359366 or richard.miall@oracle.com

Outstanding projects list Costings 2007 Bwengu Village North Malawi
Sue and Tony gave a touching and thought provoking presentation about the education project they have undertaken in Bwengu Malawi. The level of basic need was extraordinary. The impact Sue and Tony have made with their very sparse financial resources but immense commitment, motivation and patience was equally extraordinary. The contrast between the excesses most of us are about to indulge in and the needs of the children and the teachers was stark. Happily Sue & Tony were blown away by the response of members of the club. Not only did we raise the most money I can remember tipping out of the Bob Geldorf (nearly £400.00) but many members made very valuable pledges of time/skills, money, invitations to speak and materials. Sue & Tony have sent details of their current project and their needs (see attached) so there is still an opportunity to support 2 very brave and determined individuals and staff and children in Bwengu. Many thanks to all of you who have already been very generous. This is truly a project for which every £1.00 counts, all the money is spent on those who need it most and the results change lives. Sue & Tony have promised to come back and up date us on their work so hopefully they will be able to show the real progress they have made and exactly what the results of our contributions/help have been. - For the full list - Click Here.
